Hello there!
First of all, thank you very much for stopping by this blog and I really hope you find something interesting on here that you can not find on other blogs.
My hobby is to just research random individuals/eras in history and comparing the level of change to present day. This is then what led me to make this blog as I have recently taken a liking to researching about my heritage - especially my fathers past. I remember when I was still a child one of the most enjoyable things I looked forward to each day was the bedtime stories my father use to tell me. These stories included adventures of a little boy who, I now know as my fathers. It wasn't until I reached high school when i realised that these stories were actually real stories of my fathers childhood. With this in mind, my father continued to educate me on the old traditions and methods they used during his time. What intrigued me to make this website was when I asked my father where in Hong Kong he was actually from - he told me, "Law Uk Tseun" in "Nam Chung", hence where our surname came from. As he told me more stories of his old village I became more and more curious of how different it was back then. What surprised me even more was the fact that there is actually very little knowledge of this village on the internet. Whilst there was a considerable amount on "Nam Chung", there was almost no websites that had information on my fathers village in particular.
This fascination of mine has then encourage the creation of this blog. On this blog, I hope to use the primary sources that I have available and some other secondary sources to provide and analyse as much information as possible on "Law Uk Tseun". Depending on what information it is, I also hope to be able to compare it to the methods of present day.
To the reader, I hope you find what you are looking for or something new here and I also really encourage you to look into your own heritage. What you may find in your roots may also be what leads you to tomorrow.
Chantel
